|Transferring to Geosciences|
Many students transfer into the College of Geosciences from other universities and from the General Studies program or other colleges at Texas A&M. Admission criteria for specific majors is listed below. For more information contact the Associate Dean for Academics in the College of Geosciences.

Transfer Admissions Criteria
Please schedule an appointment with the Academic Advisor of the degree you wish to pursue in order to determine other coursework to fill your schedule that will follow the degree plan. Students wishing to transfer into the College of Geosciences must have at least a 3.0 and 24 hours completed at their institution. Additional major-specific requirements are listed below.
At least one course selected from GEOG 1302,1303, GEOL 1403, 1303/1103 or other introductory courses in the Geosciences (geography, geology, atmospheric science, oceanography); two math courses: MATH 1324 and 1325; and one science course selected from BIOL 1406, 1306 and 1106, CHEM 1411
Environmental Geosciences (ENGS) BS
At least one course selected from GEOG 1302,1303, GEOL 1403, 1303/1103 or other introductory courses in the geosciences (geography, geology, atmospheric science, oceanography); two math courses: MATH 2413, 2414; and one science course selected from CHEM 1411, BIOL 1406, PHYS 1401
Geography (GEOG) BS
At least two courses selected from GEOG 1302, 1303 or the equivalent to GEOG 203 (earth system science) and one of the following math/science courses: MATH 1324 or 1325; BIOL 1406 or 1306 and 1106 or CHEM 1411 or PHYS 1401 or 1301 and 1101
Spatial Science (SPSG) BS
MATH 1324 and 1325 and both CHEM 411 and 1412
Geology (GEOL) BA
GEOL 1403 or 1303/1103; two math courses: MATH 1324 and 1325; and one science selected from CHEM 1411, 1412, BIOL 1406, 1306/1106, PHYS 1401
Geology (GEOL) BS
GEOL 1403 or 1303/1103 and these four math/science courses: MATH 2413, 2414; CHEM 1411, 1412
Geophysics (GEOP) BS
GEOL 1403 or 1303/11034 and these four math/science courses: MATH 2413, 2414; PHYS 2325/2125 and 2326/2126
Meteorology (METR) BS
MATH 2413, 2414; PHYS 2425, CHEM 1411, 1412 (these five courses must be completed with a B or better)
